Reserve Your StayBenvenuti al Rué
Rué (read "rooeh") is the name of our "neighbourhood" — 40 hectares of woodland in the Alta Langa hills, meaning "Oak Forest" in the Piedmontese dialect.
A stay at Doi Fagnàn (meaning "Two Slackers" in the local dialect) is an immersive experience at the heart of nature, also offering the historical features of a traditional stone farmhouse, wiht the comfort an cosyness of a modern stone house we're lucky enough to call "home".
18th Century
Stonehouse
Our historic 18th-century home, constructed in the traditional Piedmontese style of the area, showcases the charming Langa stone.
This historical residence pays tribute to the past, featuring sturdy stone walls that carry centuries-old stories, creating an atmosphere of authenticity and warmth. The text you are looking at? An authentic incised stone that probably says "1790", hand-carved possibly by a man that used roman numerals in a somewhat cryptic way – probably a Merchant, because of "how wrongly" he used the numerals. BTW: We also inherithed a hand-digged cave.
We're eager to introduce you to this 18th century old testament of Italian rural history, surrounded by the beauty of nature.
The Hosts
We are Giorgia and Enrico, your hosts at Doi Fagnàn. After years of city life in Berlin, we decided to embrace a different rhythm — one guided by nature, seasons, and the quiet, still beauty of the Langhe hills (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Together with our beloved gang of woodland-native cats, we welcome you to our little slice of rural paradise.

"The hostess is very likeable and communicative, but also reserved when it comes to privacy. Giorgia was always available when you needed her help. We had a few difficulties on our city trip to Turin, so she helped us a lot and supported us remotely, which we thought was great and took a lot of stress off us. The house and surroundings are a treat for the heart and soul."

"Very welcoming hosts in a beautiful location. A lot of attention to detail in the accommodation and surrounding area. Very kind and helpful hosts that really want to share the love they have of their place with guests. You can easily stay a few days here and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of town life. We enjoyed talking to Giorgia about the area and the activities she is busy organizing aside from their own home. Very thoughtful and accommodating to any of your needs. We will definitely visit again when in the area!"

"Giorgia was a warm host and welcomed my partner, mum, and me so warmly during our stay. I had another night booked elsewhere and left my mum at her place, and used Giorgia's add on offerings to make her lunch (recommend bookings in advance for this). The home itself is beautiful—spotlessly clean and filled with unique, personal touches that make it feel special. The kitchen is lovely to use, with the added bonus of bar items available for purchase. We also loved the local cats and kittens, which added extra charm to the experience. I'd highly recommend this place if you're looking for a peaceful getaway and a chance to truly relax."
